My name is Sofía and I created Light and Mud. I came to the USA as a child and now I get to use everything I’ve learned to help my community.
My long-term mission is to empower the Mexican immigrant community—especially women—to heal generational, cultural and violent trauma and learn to love and accept ourselves. I create circles and we use art, storytelling and reconnecting with our bodies to heal ourselves. Read about Desahógate, my arts-based healing program.
